Bride & Groom Wedding Pictures

Well today was one of the most stressful days I've had in a long time.
We scheduled our Bride & Groom pictures at the temple for today about 3-4 weeks ago and then yesterday it rained ALL day. So last night my photographer called and was worried about it being wet everywhere at the temple for today so I called my hairdresser too and rescheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday. Then this morning I get up and my mom tells me that she checked the weather and it is supposed to rain all day again tomorrow. :( :( :( I seriously can't catch a break. My mom also said it was supposed to lighten up a little this afternoon, so I called back the photographer and asked her what she thought and we decided to go ahead and try to shoot today just to have at least a few shots that we could put up at the reception and if we had to we would do another shoot after the wedding later, when it wasn't so rainy and wet. So I called my hairdresser back to see if she could still fit me in today and got her voicemail. Now remember this is all happening right before I have class. So by this time I've realized I have too much to do before the shoot to even consider going to class. So I ditched class and ran around like a crazy person, (sorry if I cut you off or sped by you!), trying to do last minute things I could have done earlier that morning before class, had I been planning on the photo shoot when I went to bed the night before. Somewhere in the middle of my mad dashing to pick up shoes for Chase and flowers to throw together a last minute bouquet, I finally got a hold of my hairdresser and she said she could still do my hair.
Somehow I got everything done (except going to class), and we got to the Temple on time and got the shots we needed. It was pretty stressful and I thought my head might explode and I didn't get half the things done today that I wanted to but at least I pictures are done and out of the way. I am excited and can't wait to see them.

three more days.

15: Chinese Tangram

Today in my honors forum class at the beginning my teacher handed out these Chinese Tangrams/puzzles. You have seven pieces and you have to make a square with them. No gaps and you have to use all the pieces.
I fiddled with mine for a few minutes and then stopped working hard and worked smart. I googled "chinese tangram" and the first picture that came up gave me the solution. :)
Today's lesson: Be resourceful!

14: Taco Stand Goodness

Mmm. There is this little taco stand that sets up outside a mechanic shop/tire store down the street from Chase's apartment where they only speak spanish and they take cash only. They are some of the best tacos I've ever had. SO GOOD.

We Love the Taco Stand!

13: Reception Maps & Decorations

Today we got some of the decorations for the reception. These Chinese paper lanterns. :) I love them!

I also took the time to create a map for the reception location and print them out and cut them up!

12: Cloudy Blue Sky

It's not as easy to tell in this picture but today as I was driving to church the sky was all grey with clouds at the top but closer to the horizon it was clear skies and SO blue.

11: Arizona Deaf & Blind Community

Once a month I go to the ADBC meeting and spend time talking and interpreting for the deaf and blind. They have elected officers, and run meetings with minutes and everything. They plan outings sometimes and love to chat and have lunch together. :) It requires a lot of patience but it is a good experience. :) Today was the February meeting.

We have our meetings at a building called the Disability Empowerment Center. It's a nice, new building and pretty cool looking, and user friendly! :)

10: Juice Jar

Ok, so I'll admit I didn't really take a picture today. I spaced it. Well ok I took a picture but not with the intention of posting it to here. I took it to show my mom later. I was at Costco getting the wedding announcements printed and while waiting I was wondering and saw this and thought to show it to my mom in case she though it would be good to have at the reception. :)

8: Wedding Shoes - Something Blue

Today I went looking again for my wedding shoes. It's been tough since I have such strict guidelines for them. I need a very strange shade of blue that not many things come in, they need to be about 2 in. high (3 or 4in. is too much- makes me to close to Chase's height), and I have to love them. So far I've found pretty much nothing. Most of the time just finding the right shade of blue is asking to much, then to make sure I like the style and they are just the right height, well that's just ridiculous. So today as I went out looking again, hoping there would be more options since it is getting closer to spring which means more bright colors and less dark winter colors I really only found one pair that was the right color, but they were probably 3 in., not super comfortable and not a style I really loved. So I passed on those at DSW and figured I'd go next door and just check at Kohl's. Well they had ZERO blue heels of ANY shade. Pretty much everything was black and brown. I think I saw one pink heel in the whole place. Then as I was about to leave I walked by the street shoes, and lo and behold I saw converse in pretty much the exact color I wanted, and hey they're flats which means definitely not too tall! :) So these my friends, are my wedding shoes:

P.S. They are going to be my something blue. :)

7: Cut Up Wedding Dress

This is one of the most nerve-wracking sights I've ever seen. :/ Because the wedding dress I fell in love with was strapless we bought it with extra length and are using the extra length for my mom to build it up so it has a higher back, straps and sleeves. It is looking great so far (the top part), but when I take a glance at the train of my dress and see jagged cuts it makes me SO nervous and anxious. I can't wait til it's hemmed.

6: Cleaning & Packing

Well I would have liked today's picture to be of my dinner as Chase and I went to his parent's tonight and his mom always makes something fabulous, but alas I didn't think to snap one with my camera phone, so instead, today's picture is of boxes.

In preparation for moving out after Chase and I get married in March, I have been trying to get a start on going through boxes of stuff and clean out things I don't want to keep, and organize the things I do want to keep. So this bottom blue storage tub is filled halfway with year books, mostly from high school, a couple from middle school, and one from elementary school, and the other half is filled with 3-ring binders with sheets protectors in them. In the sheet protectors are old mementos and other things like birthday cards, miscellaneous pictures, notes from friends, awards I received over the years in school and other things like that. The top, green and white box is mostly books and picture frames.

I cleaned out a big box of misc items on my windowsill, both of the top shelves in my closet, and went through my little file drawer with important papers and such so I feel like I've gotten a good chunk of it all done, but there is still more to go.

5: Horses & Oranges

Okay my picture for today is just one from my cell phone so not exactly hi-res but still it's a picture. Today Chase and I went to Mesa to see our friends out there. We met up at Brenda King Harmon's parent's house and got all saddled up with Brenda & Cameron, and Keirstin & Brady Weston and had a nice horse ride over to a place called The Orange Patch. They sell all kinds of citrus and have ice cream and fun candies too. It was a fun time, even if I am a little saddle-sore. :)

4: Happy Strangers - Smiley Faces

Something I LOVE is happy strangers. You can ALWAYS tell the difference between someone who means it when they say "How are you?" or "Have a nice day!" and someone who doesn't. It's on their face and in their voice. I love it when someone at a store or other place where I am greets me or helps me with genuine interest and happiness. I love it when I go through the drive through at the bank and the person on the other end comments on my name or when they ask me how I'm doing they wait for me to respond and respond to my actual answer as opposed to a quick, "good" that cuts me off halfway through my "great." It is these people that I know are happy with their life and can't help but let it spill into other's.
Today my picture is my receipt from the bank, the man drew me a smiley face and it made my day. :-P

3: Black Bow

Okay today's picture is of course one of the clips I made last night. I wore the black bow today. :)

2: Clips, flowers & bows

Okay so today I was feeling crafty and bought some clips and some flowers and other things to make clips for my hair. I made quite a mess digging into my mom's button and ribbon collections but it was fun and I'm excited to wear them. :)

These are the little clips I bought at Sally Beauty Supply. They work great!

1: Shampoo

Okay I'm gonna try this again. We'll see how I do. :)

I like trying different kinds/brands of shampoo and conditioner just for fun and to see how I like them. Recently I bought this stuff, and let me tell you- it smells amazing. I love pomegranate and now my hair can smell just as good? awesome.
